Chanel introduced “Nevold” (short for “never old”), a new independent venture focused on scaling recycled materials and circular manufacturing processes.
The initiative operates alongside Chanel’s fashion and Métiers d’Art divisions and aims to transform off‑cuts, unsold inventory, and excess materials into luxury‑grade recycled threads, leather reinforcements and fabrics.
Chanel has already integrated recycled yarns in its tweeds and uses recycled leather in structural components for bags/shoes (30% of bags, 50% of shoes). By creating an open business‑to‑business platform, Chanel signals that luxury brands are preparing for material scarcity, recycling infrastructure and circular supply chain as a core business line.
